Physiology lectures

After refreshers of notions taught the first year, and a general introduction to the goals and scope of physiology (with a brief historical overview), the lectures present four global systems or functions, which for the most part are also illustrated in the lab sessions:

  1. nervous and endocrine systems (and their interactions), with, as examples, the visual system, and how light also controls the circadian clock and the production of an hormone. Endocrine control of glycemia is also presented, but mainly studied during the lab sessions ;
  2. the cardio-vascular system, and its complement, the lymphatic system ;
  3. sleep.
